On a site overlooking the Swan River, this custom home is designed to have the maximum number of rooms looking to the rear to take in the views of the landscaped area around the pool and river below. Across three levels, the home at 650 m2 is spacious without being cavernous. Even the cellar has a proportion that feels comfortable.

To the rear are walls of glass to take in the panorama. The front has the feeling of a stately home with a sweeping driveway flanked by solid piers supporting an automatic gate. The design instils a sense of balance as on either side of the central double doors there are similar scaled sections of the building projecting forward. Extensive use of cedar adds a luxury feel to the front elevation and provides a colour contrast midway between the light coloured render and dark, flat profile roof tiles.
