The Elan
Beside the double doors of the entry are steps leading down to the cellar. The cellar is atypical. Instead of a dark, rustic place that one navigates to and from with care, this is light, bright and tastefully appointed. And that is before you have enjoyed a bottle or two of the vintage that has been carefully put down for years. The closest this cellar comes to rustic is the use of pebbles skillfully inseted into a sweeping arc on the floor and one feature wall, and perhaps some of the 'cleanskins' in the corner. The custom fitout ensures that the room is enjoyed regularly with its extensive wine racks and bar, rather than an occassionally visited wine depositary.
